Deposits & Scheduling

Once the estimate and design has been agreed upon, you will need to be placed on the schedule to receive a time slot to start work. We try to stay on schedule as close as possible, so it’s important to know you start date and have your tins to us by then so work can start and not back up the jobs scheduled behind you.

To be placed on the schedule, a deposit is required.  For most jobs, a $500 deposit is sufficient.  You will not be placed on the schedule until the deposit has been received.  Time slots are filled as the deposits are acquired.

Payment is due in full upon completion of paint job.  Please don’t schedule a job if you don’t have the funds.  Non payment will result in late fees and/or legal measures.

Estimates

All of our jobs require estimates.  This gives you a written idea of the charges, plus helps us keep track of pricing, special instructions for the job, etc…  since most of our jobs are schedule 6-8 weeks in advance.  We do give out quick verbal or written quotes that have a broad price range, these quotes help clients that are price shopping and don’t want a full estimate.  These quick quotes need to converted to actual written estimates before any job is started.  Details of the job, damaged tins, designs, color, etc… can effect the total cost.  The written estimates come in a .pdf format to your email.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be no later than 2 weeks before your start date or the deposit is non-refundable.  There is a cancellation fee of 10% with a minimum of $100 plus any materials ordered and/or any labor started.

Payment Types

Here at the Kustom Paint Shop we prefer Money Orders and Cashiers checks.  Personal checks are accepted but have a 14 day clearing period before any products are shipped.

PayPal or Credit Cards: As of this time, we are not set up for credit cards.  We do accept PayPal for the deposits in the amount of $500 or lower.  The balance due needs to be as described above, if you are in dire need of using your credit card, we will make arrangements to have the balance paid with PayPal with an additional fee of 3.5% to cover what PayPal takes out in fees.

Design Changes

Design changes will be considered, but not guaranteed.  Most of our paintings are designed with certain colors and accent colors that compliment each other.  Design changes might change the price of the design you choose.

Keep in mind that artists have there own style of work and are always improving there techniques.  If you want for example flames laid out a certain way like another artist does it, then you should probably have the other artist paint your set.  Also work that was done 5 years ago might not be able to be performed any more because the artists’ technique has evolved and is no longer capable of doing it that way anymore.

As stated, we try to use color combinations that compliment each other.  If you are persistent in keeping your existing factory base color, but want a design that looks better on a different custom color, we will paint it for you, but you acquire all responsibility for that color combination - even if it doesn’t look like you thought it would in the end. Example:  blue real fire will not look the same on your factory medium blue paint as it does over a dark cobalt blue or black.

Sketches & Artwork

As of January 1st, 2010.  Sketches will no longer be provided at no charge.  Sketches or artwork will be billed out at a rate of $50 per hour with a sketch deposit required before any work is to be started.  We apologize for this, but in the coarse of a year, many, many hours have been spent on  sketch work that we do not get reimbursed for, costing the business time and money.
